In December, the year-round co-operation between our clients SunExpress and PlayStation was launched with the introduction of the PlayStation branded SunExpress Boeing 737-800 and its first flight movements.
After stopping over at several European airports, the aircraft with the official ID „TC-SNN“ first set foot on “home soil” on December 6th 2017. The arrival at Fraport Frankfurt, in immediate proximity to SunExpress’ headquarters in Frankfurt and PlayStation’s German subsidiary in Neu-Isenburg, was reason enough to roll out a red carpet and host a welcome event at the arrival/departure gate. Whilst waiting for the flight, the latest realeses were tested and information about the co-operation was spread.
The partners went on to call for proposals to rename „TC-SNN“ in an interactive campaign within their social media channels in December. Hundreds of potential names from “AirController” via “SunStation” to “PlayAir” were handed in and the partners selected their five favourites which were then put up for a vote. After more than 3.000 votes, “PlaneStation” was the clear public favourite and thus became the official name of the PlayStation-branded Boeing. For the first time in SunExpress history an individually named aircraft now connects Europe.
